Puffles in Depth

Levels, care, digging tiers, rare finds and every leveling reward, with the numbers the game uses right now.

Every puffle grows

Look after your puffle and it earns experience (XP). XP raises its level, from 1 up to 100. Higher levels unlock digging, better treasure and a reward at many levels on the way. A puffle earns at most 600 XP a day, so a little care every day goes further than one long session.

    Older clothing, furniture and the rare hard hats can turn up.

    Your puffle never runs away, however long you are gone.

Care at home

A puffle gets hungry slowly: a full puffle is out of food after 30 days without a meal, even while you are away. It needs a sleep about every 30 days. It gets a little less clean while it wanders around your igloo. Food, a cookie, gum or a bath fills its tummy again. A puffle that runs out of food may run away, but never while you are walking it.

Each kind of care can be repeated after a short rest. The rest stays with the puffle, so logging out does not skip it.

Out and about

  • Walk 1 XP for every 300 steps you walk together, up to 6 XP a minute.
  • Explore 8 XP for each new room you visit together today, up to 15 rooms a day.
  • Puffle games 25 XP when you finish a puffle game with your puffle out.
  • Puffle Park 20 XP at each Puffle Park station, once every 30 minutes.
  • Digging 12 XP for a dig that finds something, 4 XP for an empty hole.

Digging, tier by tier

Walk your puffle around the island and it digs by itself, about once every 2 minutes while you keep moving. About one dig in 5 finds nothing. The rest find coins or treasure, and the higher the level, the better the finds.

From level 8, a dig can turn up one of these. They are the rarest things a puffle finds.

Never the same find twice

  • No repeats. A puffle never digs up an item you already have, or one any of your puffles found before. Another item of the same tier comes instead.
  • Got them all? When you own every item of a tier, that dig pays 60 coins for an older item or 200 coins for a rare one.
  • A day's digging. All your puffles together: up to 40 digs, 800 coins, 3 older items and 1 rare find a day.
  • Never above 650 coins in one dig, whatever the puffle.

Many levels come with a gift: a puffle hat, a coin bag, a treasure chest or a lasting XP boost. Open the Leveling Rewards window from your puffle to see the next one.
