This page says in plain words what OldCP keeps about you. We keep as little as we can. We do not sell it and we do not show adverts.

What we keep

• Penguin name. You choose it. Other players see it once a moderator has approved it.
• Email address. Yours or a parent's. We use it to check the account is real, to send the activation link and to help you get back in if you forget your password. Other players never see it.
• Birth month and year. Never the day. They decide which chat settings you can use and are never shown to anyone.
• Password. Stored only in scrambled form. Nobody, including staff, can read it.
• Your penguin. Coins, items, igloo, puffles, stamps and buddies, so they are still there next time.
• Chat. Messages typed in a room are stored for a short time. Messages the filter stopped, reported messages and staff messages are kept longer. Chat is recorded explains who can read them.
• Logins. When you logged in, whether it worked, and the kind of device and browser. Your IP address is not stored with them.

Why we keep it

To run the game, to keep the island safe, and to help you when something goes wrong with your account. Nothing else.

How long we keep it

• Ordinary chat messages: about 24 hours.
• Chat messages that were stopped by the filter, reported, or sent by staff: 90 days.
• Login records: 90 days.
• Links we email you (activation, password reset): they stop working after a short time.
• Your account and penguin: until the account is deleted.

The Owner can change the two chat times; the Club Rules always show the current ones.

Cookies

The accounts site sets two cookies. One keeps you logged in; it lasts 30 days from your last visit and is removed when you log out. The other remembers your browser so that you can see where your account is logged in; it lasts one year.

There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

The website may keep small settings in your browser, such as whether the sound of the homepage video is off.

Who else is involved

• Email. Our messages are delivered by an email service, which handles the address they go to.
• Fonts. Pages load a font file from Google Fonts, so Google sees that your browser asked for it.
• Discord. Support tickets are opened on Discord. What you write there is kept by Discord under its own rules.

We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Deleting your account

You can ask our team to delete your account. The account and its penguin are then removed.

To ask, or to see or correct what we hold about you, create a ticket in our Discord.

Younger players

If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before you sign up, and use their email address if you do not have your own. Parents can ask us to show, correct or delete a child's information at any time.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes too.
